Interstate Shipment of State-Inspected Meat Proposed Rule

Overview

Note: This webinar is no longer hosted, but the class materials and resources are still listed below.

The 2008 Farm Bill included a provision to allow the interstate sale of state-inspected meat and poultry. In September, USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service published proposed rules for how this program will work. On this webinar, Arion Thiboumery and Bob Ehart explain the proposed rules, discuss the “messy details” and areas of controversy, and provide critical background to help us understand how we got here.
